Serket was shaking.
Or, perhaps fidgeting aggressively was the right term.
The robot was breaking so many rules in order to do this, but there was a pit in her stomach. She needed to see the future, and she needed to meet Nikki. John too, but she was really feeling like Nikki was the important one.
Clutching her tote bag with some books and tupperware full of snacks, the bot waited until she received the message. She took a deep breath, slapping the side of her face a few times to get focused. This was a mission. Just like any other. She just had to file everything perfectly after the fact.
Or she would be decommissioned hastily.

She nodded firmly, then took a step onto the transporter pad. A moment later, she would be transported to a world that was not her own. Was she going to be in a different time too?? How did this process go? So many questions. So little time to worry.
When she arrived, she saw Roxy. And Roxanne.
She felt nauseous.
“Hey!” She beamed, bouncing giddily as she waved at the two. Everything was blurring in her eyes almost immediately. She looked down and dug into her tote. “Roxy, darling, I don’t know how much I’ll get to see you 8ut I hope this will hold you until my return!” She produced a large plastic container full of strawberry ice cream cake, compressed entirely to the point that the thing weighed at least five pounds in spite of its size.
